Frequently asked questions
How do I add a cat?
Open Pets and tap add. The steps ask for a name, breed, birthday, sex, weight, a photo, and notes — everything except the name is optional — then let you pick one to three things to keep an eye on (drinking, appetite, litter, weight…) and set a daily routine (meals, litter, water, play). All of it can be changed later from the cat’s profile.
How does Paw work, and what can’t it do?
Paw is an AI assistant that reads your cat’s notebook — the profile, active meds, the last week of the care log, and its own notes about the cat — and answers with that in mind, in your language. There are two kinds of conversation: everyday questions (food, behavior, litter, play), and an urgency check when something seems wrong, which ends with a red / yellow / green read on how soon to act and a summary you can show a veterinarian. Paw cannot examine your cat, does not diagnose or treat, and never tells you which medication to give or how much. It can be wrong. If your cat may be in danger, call a veterinarian or an emergency clinic first.
What does Paw send to the AI provider?
Your message, any photos you attached, the conversation so far, and a small package about that cat: profile, medical notes, conditions, active medications, the last 7 days of the care log, and Paw’s memory notes. Never your name or email. The provider today is Google’s Gemini API. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
How do reminders work?
Add a reminder from a cat’s Care tab — for a medication, a vaccine, or anything custom — with a schedule and a time of day. Pado delivers it as a notification to every device where you turned notifications on (Me → Notifications & app on the web) and respects the quiet hours in your profile. The iOS app does not deliver push notifications yet; until it does, use the web app or your phone’s browser for reminders.
How do I share a household with someone?
Open a cat’s People tab and create an invite link; links work for 7 days and up to 5 people. Whoever opens it and signs in joins your household as a caregiver (they can log and edit) or a viewer (look only) — you choose the role, and you can change or remove members later. Everyone in the household sees the same cats, log, records, and Paw conversations. For a pet sitter, use a sitter link instead: it shows the care sheet, meds, and contacts for a set time, and never your documents or Paw chats.
How do I delete my account?
On the web at www.pado.pet: Me → Delete account, then type DELETE to confirm. This permanently removes your profile and, for households only you own, their cats, records, photos, conversations, and reminders. Households you share with others keep going without you — ownership passes to another member. Export your data first if you want a copy. In the iOS app: the Cats tab → Settings → Delete account, then type DELETE — the same deletion. If you cannot sign in, email support@pado.pet from your account address and we will do it for you.
Where is my data stored, and can I get a copy?
Your data lives in a private database and private file storage hosted in the United States (Supabase), behind servers on Vercel. Photos and documents are never public unless you create a share link. Me → Export my data downloads everything in your households as one JSON file; uploaded files can be downloaded from each cat’s Records tab.
Is Pado free?
Yes — Pado is free to use today. The Free plan includes the care log, calendar, records, reminders, household sharing, and 5 Paw conversations a month (emergency red-flag checks are never limited). A paid Pado Plus plan is shown in the app, but payments are not open yet.
Can I use Pado in Chinese?
Yes. Pado is available in English and 简体中文 — switch under Me → Language. Paw replies in the language you use.
Contact us
Email support@pado.pet. Include the email address on your account and, if it is about a specific cat or conversation, the cat’s name and roughly when it happened. We read everything and reply as fast as a small team can — usually within a couple of days.
